As always, the best ones are the ones that honour the team, not the individual.

Of course, the 9/11 masks get a special exception.

I believed I considered him, but if I remember correctly he only wore a standard white mask with no markings/changes made...

I remember that Game like it was yesterday. The Sabres removed The crest from the Jersey adn Went With a New York across the jersey.

I cried in front of my TV when Messier put on the helmt of the firefighter that had lost his life during the ceremony. One of my favorite players of all time.

Anyone have a Richter McDonald's mask that's plastic and sits on a shelf?

I have a bunch of those old things.

Richter, Potvin, Ed Belfour (Chicago), Roy...

This is a great shot. New york scrolled across both jerseys is awesome.

We had an interesting thread on the Flyers board about the best captains of all time.

I had Messier #1.

Mess had 2 phenomanal runs to the Cup as CAPTAIN, FIRST taking over for Gretz after his shocking trade to LA in Edmonton & taking a team that was perceived as beatable & winning the Cup in 90.

Then an even more impressive performance in helping the Rangers to end the 54 yr jinx in 1994. It's easy to forget now, but there was tremendous pressure on the Rangers to win that yr & Mess stepped up, his performance against the Devils in Gm 6 of those ECF's speaks for itself, the prediction & subsequent Hat Trick & then scoring ultimately the game winning goal in Game 7 against Vancouver to win the Cup.

He kept his cool & never panicked that yr & if not for Brian Leetch playing out of his mind he probably wins another Conn Smythe Trophy too.

Gillies Gratton was 30 years too early otherwise his mask would have been the perfect fit for the Florida Panthers.

Mike Richter's mask might have been the inspiration behind one of the Rangers 3rd jersey and for good reason. Great mask.
